A climber hangs halfway up a Siberian rock formation. His name is Hal. And he is screaming.
Hal climbs without ropes. He long ago gave up trying to rationalise why he does this. His wife used to climb without ropes too, but she missed a grip, fell and snapped her spine. Hal remembers thinking a strange animal was shrieking somewhere very close by, before realising it was him.
The next day he went back up the same rock.
Velocet use innovative physical-storytelling and live climbing, fragmented conversations and half-lit memories, to inhabit the mind of a man desperately trying to end his addiction to danger.
Velocet, a London based company committed to new writing and new work, have created a distinct style of physical story telling. Rooted in the trademarks of its creators, visual flair, intelligence and brutal honesty exude from their work.
This is what the fringe should be about... Intelligent physical theatre with more dash than cash." (Lyn Gardner, The Guardian)
