FEST: LADY IN BED

2 August 2010

Lady in Bed is a solo piece about the erotic escapades of one woman from the mid 1970s to the present day. Written and performed by Alison Goldie, and directed by Laura Eades, it takes the audience on a lively and exuberant quest for love and sexual adventure which echoes the experiences of so many people in the modern age. Drawing on a multitude of stories from her life, Alison relates and enacts a selection of episodes, playing all the characters involved (ex-lovers, mother, best friend, policemen…and a few eccentric animals who comment on the action). Often very humorous, but sometimes poignant, she animates an odyssey to understand herself and men, which both sexes have found  thrilling, heart-warming and revelatory.

‘Funny and touching with fabulous pithy observations on life… a brilliant piece of theatre’ (BBC Online)

‘A thoroughly enjoyable peek into a particularly active bedroom’ **** (Fringe Review)

‘A witty, engaging and fabulous fringe play to whisk you through an hour of stories of sex, relationships and life’ (Camden Gazette)
