Theatre503 presents Five-0-Fresh
Theatre503's exciting new programme for young people aged 16-25 is designed for local young people who are not in education, employment or training.
This year's Five-0-Fresh project, has worked with 25 young people from Wandsworth, many of whom have had no previous theatre training, but after twelve weeks of studying leadership, writing, directing, acting, producing and design they have written, directed and produced four new short urban plays about love, life, passion and the streets premiered at Theatre503 on May 6th and 7th.
Even though many have complex and challenging personal circumstances the confidence they have gained on the programme has already seen some of our Five-0-Freshers progress to college courses and other arts projects.
As Kimba Neville, 19, explains, "as a young parent, I'm always looking for new things to experience and although I was really scared to start I'm now really enjoying it". Jade Turner, 23, adds, "a friend of mine showed me a leaflet and it inspired me to come and see what it's about. It was a change from the old routine, something different and something new".
